Samsung Electronics performed the best in the mobile phone market through 2011, to reach top position. Over the years, Samsung mobile have made a different place of their own, be it in implementation of advanced technology, innovative & attractive looks or justified price-tag.
There is still a large proportion of the population which does not own a smartphone, mostly older generations or people with budget constraints. Samsung Electronics had understood this void and taken the great opportunity to broaden their user base in this segment. It’s look like the South Korean giant has a firm grasp on the low budget phone in the market and it difficult to think of any other manufacturer with the same level of output on budget smartphones.
There are few brands like Micromax, Lava, Spice, who specifically targeted this budgeted mobile phone segment but they are yet to build trust among larger masses.
